UPES DAT 2022 Eligibility

The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies determines the UPES DAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria (UPES). All applicants for the UPES DAT Exam 2022 must carefully review the eligibility requirements.

Minimum Qualification: To be considered for the UPES B.Des programme, a candidate must have a minimum of 50% in Class X and Class XII. Exception: If an applicant does not choose to take the UPES DAT 2022, they may apply for admission to the B.Des programme if they meet one of the following qualifying criteria:

  • A minimum of 65 percent in Class X and Class XII is required of the candidate.
  • Candidates who passed the JEE Main and UCEED exams should have received a minimum of 50% in Class X and Class XII.

Eligibility Criteria for UPES DAT 2022 1. Bachelor of Design (B.Des)

The following are the eligibility conditions in terms of age and academic qualification:

Academic Credentials

The following are the academic requirements for a B.Des:

Exam path: A minimum of fifty percent (50%) at the Higher and Senior Secondary levels is required (10th and 12th).

Candidates in this scenario will be required to take the UPES DAT online entrance exam, which will be followed by a portfolio presentation and an interview.

Board merit and JEE Main/UCEED are two non-exam options.

Board Merit: A minimum of 65% (65%) in grades X and XII are required. (Any stream will suffice.

In this situation, the candidate will not be required to take the entrance exam but will instead be required to show his or her portfolio, which will be followed by an interview.

JEE MAIN/UCEED: A minimum of fifty percent (50%) in X and XII grades, as well as valid JEE MAIN/UCEED results.

In this situation, candidates with valid JEE MAIN/UCEED scores would be required to attend an interview followed by a portfolio presentation.

Age Requirements

Candidates who were born on or after October 1, 1995 are only eligible to apply for admission.

Furthermore, only the date of birth on the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will be considered authentic.

2. Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting (BFA)

The following are the eligibility conditions in terms of age and academic qualification:

Candidates must have received a minimum of fifty percent (50%) in their Higher and Senior Secondary schooling. (Standards X and XII)

The candidate might come from any background.

If eligible, an applicant for admission to BFA will take the UPES DAT online entrance exam, which will be followed by a portfolio presentation and interview.

Age Requirements

Candidates who were born on or after October 1, 1995 are only eligible to apply for admission.

Furthermore, only the date of birth on the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will be considered authentic.

3. Master of Design (Industrial/Transportation)

The following is a list of academic qualifications that are required for M.Des:

Candidates for admission should have the following qualifications:

At the Higher and Senior Secondary levels, a minimum of fifty percent (50%) is required. (Standards X and XII)

B.Tech/B.E in any discipline/4 years)/B.Arch/BFA (4 years)/B.Des/3 years B.Sc in design + one year of foundation/Applied Arts with a minimum of 50% (50%) marks

If eligible, students must take the UPES DAT online entrance exam, which will be followed by a portfolio presentation and an interview.

The UPES DAT exam will be waived for candidates who have valid CEED 2015/16 scores.

Reservation for UPES DAT 2022

  • Residents of Uttarakhand are entitled to 15% (15%) of seats in all programmes provided, subject to the production of the Sthai Niwas Praman Patra (Permanent Residence Certificate) granted by the state of Uttarakhand's competent government.
  • Seats are allocated purely on the basis of merit/positions obtained in this category.
  • Only those candidates who expressed their intent to apply under this category while applying for admissions are eligible for this advantage.
  • Candidates applying under this category whose Sthai Niwas Praman Patra (in original) is not produced on the day of admission will have their candidature revoked.
  • Also, if the seats in a category remain/fall vacant by a certain date, they will be classified as unreserved from that point forward.

The following are the requirements for international candidates:

  • For the length of the course, candidates must have a valid passport and visa.
  • Applicants must meet the program's qualifying conditions (as mentioned above).
  • Candidates from non-English speaking nations must demonstrate to the UPES that they have sufficient English competence to be admitted to the programme of their choice. If necessary, such candidates will be requested to sign an agreement to participate in English language instruction for a set length of time prior to the start of sessions. Although passing the TOEFL/IELTS or a comparable exam is not required, it is strongly recommended.
  • UPES must be satisfied that candidates applying for undergraduate admission have achieved a higher school secondary certificate (with the minimum percentage of marks as indicated above) and have completed the required courses to meet the eligibility criteria for admission.
  • In order to be admitted to post-graduate programmes, the candidate must obtain from the AIU the equivalent of his or her country's undergraduate degree.
  • Candidates may be asked to visit the AIU in this regard in some situations.
