Requirements: Academic scores, SAT/ACT scores, Personal Essays, Letter of Recommendation, Non-academic Engagement

Detailed instructions to register and start your application are listed below.
Stage 2: Assessments
Requirements: Ashoka Aptitude Assessment (Mandatory); On-the-Spot Essay (Mandatory)

Once an application form has been submitted within the deadline of a particular round, the applicant will be required to mandatorily participate in the Assessments on the date(s) mentioned in the Admissions Calendar. The Assessments consist of the following

On-the-Spot Essay; Mandatory (30 minutes)
The on-the-spot essay evaluates the following parameters: engagement with the prompt, critical thinking, clarity of thought, and creativity. The candidate will be given two topics to choose from at the time of writing the essay. The candidate cannot use any external resources to help them write the essay. The essay has no word limit and can be attempted with minimal preparation. Please click here to download sample essays and prompts for the On-the-Spot Essay.

Ashoka Aptitude Assessment; Mandatory (90 minutes)
The Ashoka Aptitude Assessment has been developed for Ashoka University’s admissions purposes by Cambridge and is based on the Thinking Skills Assessment to evaluate the thinking skills of the applicant. It consists of questions on problem-solving skills (includes numerical and spatial reasoning) and critical thinking skills (includes understanding arguments and reasoning using everyday language). It has a total of 40 Multiple Choice Questions (20 problem-solving questions and 20 critical thinking questions) and is designed to be taken with minimal preparation. A sample paper of the Ashoka Aptitude Test will be attached shortly.

Students are shortlisted once the Office of Admissions conducts an in-depth review of each application form and assessment.

Stage 3: Shortlist for Interview
Each Application Form is read in detail and evaluated along with the Assessments in a holistic manner by the Admissions Committee, which shortlists candidates for an online interview with an interview panel.

The Ashoka Interview is a mandatory stage and seeks to understand and get to know the candidate, their background and story. It also evaluates various parameters of the application form submitted by the candidate to gauge the candidate’s suitability to Ashoka University’s academic and residential life programme. The candidate will be interviewed by a panel. The time taken for the interview might vary depending on the interaction

Stage 4: Decisions and Financial Aid
All final decisions are declared by the Admissions Committee. Once a student receives a firm offer of admission, the financial aid form is enabled for them. The financial aid process is separate from the admission process and in no way impacts a student’s admission at Ashoka.

Ashoka University offers a Merit-cum-Means Scholarship program designed to support outstanding undergraduate students who plan to major in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, or Computer Science at Ashoka.

This program will grant a total of 25 scholarships, in addition to the existing need-based financial aid accessible to all students. Among these scholarships, 5 students will be fortunate enough to receive a full 100% waiver covering both tuition and residence expenses. The remaining 20 awardees will enjoy a 100% tuition fee waiver.

At Ashoka, when students aren't studying, they have lots of fun options. They can join different clubs and groups related to their interests. This helps them make their time at the college more interesting and enjoyable. There are clubs for music, dance, theater, games, helping the community, writing, taking photos, and many more. Students can pick from these clubs or even start their own!

At Ashoka, these clubs and groups make their own rules and ways of doing things. A "Club" is a group of people who all like the same thing and work together on it. A "Society" is like a big group that includes two or more clubs. These clubs have different interests, but they share a common goal or interest that brings them together.
