PGIMER 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research is a Chandigarh-based higher education institution that offers medical science courses such as MD, MS, nursing degrees, and other hospital administration courses. Students interested in these programmes must take the PGIMER's entrance test. Candidates must ensure that they meet the PGIMER 2022 eligibility criteria before taking the exam. Eligibility Criteria for PGIMER 2022

For each entrance test, the organising body has established distinct eligibility conditions for pgimer. Before applying for PGIMER 2022, candidates must review the educational requirements and other eligibility criteria. Each course's INI CET/PGIMER 2022 eligibility criteria are detailed below.

MD/ MS Eligibility at PGIMER

The following are the PGIMER qualifying criteria for admission to MD/ MS programmes.

  • Candidates must hold an MBBS degree from an Indian Medical Council-approved university or institution (MCI).
  • Candidates must complete or be on their way to completing the necessary rotatory internship programme by December 31, 2020, for the January session, and June 30, 2022, for the July session.
  • Candidates must register with either the Central or State Medical Registration Council.

Eligibility for MDS/House Jobs at PGIMER (OHS)

  • Applicants who want to enrol in MDS/OHS courses must complete the following requirements.
  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from a Punjab University that is recognised by the Indian Dental Council (DCI).
  • The Central or State Dental Councils require students to be registered (MCI).
  • House Jobs will not be available to those who have already completed House Jobs in a hospital or institute.

Eligibility for M.Sc. Pharmacology at PGIMER

  • Students interested in pursuing a M.Sc. in Pharmacology must meet one of the following requirements.
  • Candidates must have completed MBBS or an equivalent degree from a university or institution recognized by the Indian Medical Council (MCI).
  • OR
  • Candidates must hold a B.Sc. (in Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry), B.V.Sc., or B.Pharma degree from an institution or university recognised by the Indian government.

Eligibility for M.Sc. Respiratory Care at PGIMER

Applicants for the M.Sc. Respiratory programme must meet the following requirements.

  • Aspirants must have earned a B.Sc. (in Medical Laboratory Technology, Nursing) or a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from a government-approved institution or university.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 55 percent in their graduation grades to be eligible to apply.

Note: After receiving their degree, sponsored applicants must have a minimum of three years of experience in their respective disciplines.

Eligibility for the M.Sc. in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology at PGIMER (ASLP)

The following are the minimum requirements for admission to PGIMER's M.Sc. Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology programme.

  • Applicants must hold a B.Sc. (Audiology and Speech Therapy) or a Bachelor of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology degree.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of a 50 percent aggregate in their graduation.
  • Note: After receiving their degree, sponsored applicants must have a minimum of three years of experience in their respective disciplines.

PGIMER DM/ M.Ch. Eligibility

The following are the qualifying conditions and age limit for DM/ M.Ch.

  • Applicants must have earned an MD/ MS degree or an equivalent approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
  • For DM / M.Ch., there is an age limit.
  • To write the test for DM/ M.Ch., aspirants must be eligible based on the PGIMER 2022 age limit. The age limit for applying to the D/ M.Ch. course at PGIMER is listed below.

PGIMER 2022 Eligibility for MD Hospital Administration

The following criteria established by the conducting authority must be met by applicants for MD Hospital Administration.

Candidates must have earned their MBBS from a Medical Council of India-approved institution (MCI).

Candidates must have at least 3 years of hospital experience or 5 years of general practise experience to apply.

In addition, to support their general practise, interested candidates must have a Certificate issued by the District Magistrate.

Those from the general category should have scored at least 55 percent in MBBS, while candidates from the reserved categories should have scored at least 50 percent.

Aspirants must be registered with either the Central or State Medical Registration Councils.

PGIMER Eligibility Reservation

Seat reservations have been established for students from minority groups who wish to pursue MD and MS programmes through PGIMER 2022. Over 110 seats are allotted for students from various categories, including general/ OBC/ SC/ST/ PwD, rural students, Bhutanese/ foreign nationals, and sponsored candidates. To be considered in the merit list generated based on the reservation quota, students from certain categories must score 50% on the admission exam. The percentage of seats in each category is listed below.

Other Backward Castes (OBC): Students from the OBC category are entitled to a seat quota of 27% of the total seats.

To be on the merit list, students must meet all of the other eligibility conditions established by the conducting authority.

Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe: Students who belong to the Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe (SC/ ST) category and have met the minimum qualification standards are considered for the merit list. A total of 22.5 percent of seats are reserved for students who fall into this group.

Rural Areas: Applicants who work or have worked in rural areas with a population of 5000 people are awarded a 5% seat reserve. Only those who meet all of the required qualifying conditions are considered for the reservation.

Persons with Disabilities (PwD): Based on the seats and reservation criteria established by PGIMER, there is a 3% reservation for students with disabilities.

Sponsored Candidates: Students sponsored by autonomous bodies of the central government, public sector colleges under MCI, or central or state government institutions are eligible to apply. Candidates must meet certain criteria, including the ones listed below.

  • The applicants must have worked for the sponsoring institutions for three years or more prior to the corresponding session.
  • After completing the course, the applicants must work for the sponsoring institution for five years in the training field.
  • During the training time at PGIMER Chandigarh, the sponsoring institution must cover all of the applicants' financial demands.
