It was founded in 2009 as an associated college, but the state government has now designated it as a State Private University (under Gujarat Private Universities Act, 2009). The University has been a role model and trendsetter for other Institutes and Universities due to its strong dedication to excellence in teaching, research, and social outreach. In just over a decade, it has expanded from 240 students to one of the largest engineering campuses in the country, with over 7000 students.
The Times of India placed it 7th among India's top 10 engineering colleges, and 94.3 My FM named it "Most Innovative Engineering College." Engineering, Management, Arts, and Science are among the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by the university.

Cell for Training and Placement
Silver Oak University's (SOU) Training and Placement Cell provides full training and placement support to its students in all areas of professional education. It is made up of a specialized and well-experienced placement staff that is continuously looking for new opportunities for Industry-Institute Interaction and Linkages across all industries.
The Training and Placement Cell at SOU is responsible for a variety of tasks.
Placement on Campus:
The SOU Training and Placement Cell encourages various companies to place students. It results in a win-win situation for both parties involved. Companies benefit from the best new engineering graduates, and students benefit from the finest positions available before their B.E. degree ends.
Recruiters Engage:
The Training & Placement Cell hosts a Recruiters Meet to bridge the gap between industry and academia. Company personnel from various industries are invited to participate in an expert session and meet with faculty and students.
Lectures by Experts:
Placement & Training In consultation with HODs, the cell organizes a series of expert lectures. Such lectures enable students to become familiar with industry expectations and to connect academic and practical aspects of engineering.
Internships & Project Training:
Internships and project training are vital and unavoidable elements of courses that prepare students to deal with real-world engineering situations. Students in their pre-final and final years are placed in various industries for 6–8 weeks or 6 months. They work under the direction and supervision of industry professionals and faculty members who look after them.
Industrial Visits:
During each semester, students participate in industrial visits with faculty members in a variety of companies, which broadens their exposure and helps them comprehend the practical aspects of their studies.
FDPs (Faculty Development Programs):
The Training & Placement unit also hosts Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) for faculty from several departments by inviting experts from diverse professions. Such FDPs assist faculty members in honing and updating their teaching skills, resulting in faculty members' advancement.
Programs for Career Orientation:
Placement & Training For 12th Science graduates, the Cell provides Career Orientation Programs. During such workshops, students are informed about the many options available in various technical fields. It also assists students in making informed decisions about which engineering branch to pursue.
