NEET MDS 2022 Eligibility Criteria

With the release of the official announcement for NEET MDS 2022, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) will declare the NEET MDS eligibility criteria. However, in order to apply for the exam, a candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree from a college recognised by the NBE, according to prior years' eligibility standards. General Eligibility for NEET MDS

According to the MDS Course Regulations 2017 released by the Dental Council of India with prior permission from MoHFW, the following are the qualifying criteria for admission to MDS courses. Please keep in mind that these are the general eligibility requirements. The article includes criteria for both Jammu and Kashmir applicants and foreign nationals.

  • To sit for NEET MDS 2022, candidates must be Indian citizens, Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), or Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs).
  • For NEET MDS, you can attempt the exam up to three times. In addition, the unreserved category has a maximum age limit of 25 years, whereas reserved categories have a 5 year age limit of 30 years.
  • Candidate must have completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from an Indian university or institute and be registered with the State Dental Council, either provisionally or permanently, and have completed a year of mandatory rotatory internship in an approved/ recognised dental college.
  • A candidate who has passed the final qualifying examination (BDS or a foreign dental degree recognised by the GOI/DCI) and is anticipated to complete the 12-month mandatory rotatory internship/practical training by May 2, 2022, can sit for this exam.
  • However, he or she will not be considered for admission unless he or she has completed the mandatory rotatory internship and received temporary or permanent registration by March 31, 2022.
  • The candidate presents a certificate from the institution's head stating that the internship will be completed by May 2, 2022.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET MDS in India Seats with a 50% quota

All candidates interested in applying for AIQ must meet the following requirements.

Please note that applicants who have already completed BDS in the state of Jammu & Kashmir will not be eligible for NEET MDS under the 50 percent AIQ. Nonetheless, there is a clause that qualifies them; continue reading for more information.

  • Candidates from Jammu and Kashmir who studied/passed BDS are not eligible for the 50% All India Quota seats.
  • Candidates nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to study BDS at Dental Colleges in Jammu and Kashmir would be able to apply.
  • The shortlisted candidates must provide a suitably signed affidavit stating that they were nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to study dentistry at dental colleges in Jammu and Kashmir.
  • They must submit the Affidavit with a printout of the acknowledgement of submission of the NEET-MDS 2022 online application. The Affidavit must be completed and submitted before November 30, 2020.
  • Candidates who finished their BDS in Jammu and Kashmir but did not submit the Affidavit as required above would not be eligible for the All India 50 percent quota counselling.
  • The ban on candidates from the states of Jammu and Kashmir would not apply to the categories of Armed Forces for the 'Grant of Short Service Commission in Army Dental Corps' and MDS admissions in Armed Forces Institutes.
  • Note that in order to be considered for NEET-MDS 2022, the applicant must complete his or her internship before the deadline of May 2, 2022.

Jammu and Kashmir Candidate NEET MDS Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the NEET MDS procedure, aspirants from the state of Jammu & Kashmir must meet the following conditions. Candidates must read the following information about NEET MDS Eligibility Criteria before applying for the test.

  • AIQ would not accept candidates who earned their undergraduate degrees in Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Candidates nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to study BDS at Dental Colleges in Jammu and Kashmir would be able to apply.
  • These applicants must submit a duly signed affidavit stating that the Government of India has nominated them for specified pool seats, together with a copy of their application form, to the NEET MDS office's registered address.

Foreign Nationals Eligibility Criteria for NEET MDS

NEET MDS is also considered by non-Indians, and the following are some of the NEET MDS eligibility criteria for non-Indians. All of these requirements must be met; otherwise, no candidates will be allowed to take the exam.

Foreign nationals are not need to have a temporary registration with DCI when taking the NEET-MDS exam, according to the 2017 MDS course regulations. Foreign nationals are not required to register for the NEET-MDS.

The Council may provide temporary registration for the term of postgraduate training restricted to the dental college/institution to which he or she is admitted for the time being exclusively for postgraduate studies upon payment of the appropriate registration fee.

The temporary registration of foreign nationals will be conditional on the concerned person being duly registered as a medical practitioner in the country where he or she obtained his or her basic dental qualification and having his or her degree recognised by the corresponding state dental council or concerned authority.

NEET MDS Eligibility Criteria for Non-Resident Indians

Candidates who apply for NEET MDS using the NRI provision must meet the qualifying requirements of the authorities. If ineligibility is discovered at any point during the procedure, candidates will be disqualified. As a result, it is strongly recommended that you read the following details to fully comprehend the NEET MDS Eligibility requirements for NRIs.

Candidates must present the original Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship completion certificate at the time of counselling, and the dates indicated by candidates about the 12-month Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship, i.e., starting date, completion date, will be treated as final.

Except in the following circumstances, no 12-month internship will be tolerated:

  • The students in this batch were admitted during the 2007-08 academic year and finished a four-and-a-half-year BDS programme as well as six months of mandatory rotating internships.
  • Students who were admitted to Rajah Muthiah Dental College, Annamalai University, for the academic year 2006-07 finished a five-year BDS programme without an internship.
  • Candidates who are found to be ineligible at any point throughout the NEET MDS 2022 examination and counselling process will be disqualified.
  • Such candidates' results/candidatures will be cancelled, or will be presumed to be cancelled.
  • Candidates who complete internship beyond March 31, 2022, or who have qualifications that are not recognised under the Dentists Act will be immediately rejected from competing in NEET MDS 2022. Candidates are also discouraged from canvassing for the election.
  • Some universities/institutions have rules that candidates who are currently enrolled in a PG course at their own or another university are not eligible for admission till the course is completed.
