Written Exam (Prelims and Mains), Studio Test, and Personal Interview Round are the three stages of the NID DAT 2022 Exam Pattern. The NID DAT Exam Pattern comprises of 70 points for subjective questions and 30 points for objective questions, with no negative marking. The B.Des and M.Des courses provided by NID DAT 2022 have different syllabuses. In 2021, the NID DAT Exam Pattern was modified for both BDes and MDes.

The NID DAT mains exam 2022 is a three-hour test for the B.Des and GDPD programmes. This test includes questions about doodling, drawing, and creative sketching, among other things. The test is worth a total of 100 points.

Candidates who take both the prelims and mains exams will be placed on a merit list. The total marks earned by the applicants will be computed by adding their scores from both tests.
Previously, the prelims exam had a 30% percentile score weighting while the mains exam had a 70% percentile score weighting. However, the weighting of percentile marks in determining the final score has altered recently. Candidates must first take the prelims test in order to be considered for admission to the institution's M.Des programmes. Candidates will be permitted to participate in the mains round only if they have been selected and shortlisted in the prelims round. The M.Des preliminary exam is broken into two parts: part 1 and part 2. Part 1 consists of objective questions, whereas Part 2 consists of subjective questions. This is a 100-point exam that is taken offline.
A discipline or domain-specific test and a Common DAT make up this test (Design Aptitude Test). Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in both of the examinations.
Candidates can choose to take one or both of the discipline-specific tests.
