For this academic session, the Central Board of Secondary Education has altered the JEE Main exam pattern and released the syllabus. The National Testing Agency has also updated the exam format for JEE Main 2022 as a result of this. Aspirants for the B.Tech and B.Arch/B.Planning programmes will take separate exams. The JEE Main Exam Pattern 2022 has been updated to include all of the new modifications listed below. Candidates are recommended to completely review the JEE Mains 2022 test pattern in order to have a better understanding of the JEE Main question paper and to focus their preparation efforts accordingly. For candidates and students taking the IIT JEE test, understanding the JEE Main exam format is critical. Candidates who pay close attention to and follow the exam pattern will not only be able to create a successful study plan, but they will also be able to perform well and earn a better exam result.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been given responsibility to establish and develop the JEE Main syllabus, as well as to set the exam pattern, starting in 2019. While there were a few changes to the exam design in 2019, the NTA has yet to release the exam pattern for the 2022 exam. Meanwhile, the following were some of the notable changes in 2021. Instead of two exam sessions, there will be four. In February, March, April, and May, the Paper 1 exam was held. Papers 2A and 2B (B. Arch and B. Planning) were only offered twice a year.
Paper 1 had 90 questions in total, with 20 questions in section A and 10 in section B. Students were given 75 questions to answer, with 20 questions in section A and 5 questions in section B for each topic - physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
Paper 2A was assigned to B.Arch students. It had a total of 82 questions, but students could only attempt 77 of them (Mathematics- 25; Aptitude- 50; Drawing- 2). A total of 400 points were awarded.
Paper 2B had 105 questions, and students may only attempt 100 of them. The paper had a grade of 400.
Candidates could choose any 5 of the 10 questions in the numerical value-based component of the Mathematics section for Paper 2A and Paper 2B.
In essence, candidates will find all of the key information about the exam on this website, including the exam mode, type of questions, distinct parts, mark distribution, and exam duration. Let's take a closer look at the specifics.
In 2021, some changes were made to the JEE Mains exam pattern, which would be followed for the next few years. This section discusses the gist of all the major parts in the JEE Mains curriculum 2022, both revised and unrevised:
In 2021, some changes were made to the JEE Mains exam pattern, which would be followed for the next few years. This section discusses the gist of all the major parts in the JEE Mains curriculum 2022, both revised and unrevised:
Papers: There are two papers in JEE Main 2022. Candidates seeking admission to B.E./B.Tech programmes should take Paper-I, while those seeking admission to B.Arch./B.Planning programmes should take Paper-II.
Duration: The JEE Main 2022 examination paper has a time limit of 3 hours and 180 minutes to complete. Paper-II Mode: There will be two options for Paper-II in JEE Main 2022. Part-I: Mathematics and Part-II: Aptitude will be administered online, whereas Part-III: Drawing Test will be administered offline or on paper (PBT).
A different section: In the JEE Main 2022 exam, a new pattern has been implemented: there will be no negative marking in the additional 15 alternative questions. All candidates must attempt 75 out of 90 questions, which can be broken down into 25 out of 30 questions in each section (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).
JEE Main 2022 (Mode of Paper-I) Paper-I will be administered solely in one method, namely, online as a computer-based test (CBT).JEE Main is divided into three sections and will be held in two shifts: morning and evening. The following is a general outline of the JEE Main exam pattern:
Paper 1: B.E/B.Tech | |||||

What is the exam pattern for NTA JEE Main 2022?
Answer: According to the JEE Main exam pattern 2022 for B.Tech applicants, the entrance exam is divided into three portions, each of which contains 25 questions (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics). There are 300 points in all.
Question: What is the JEE Main 2022 marking scheme?
Answer: For Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), students will be allotted four marks for each correct response and one mark for each erroneous answer, according to the JEE Main 2022 exam schedule. They are given four marks for each correct response in the case of numerical values, and there is no negative marking.
Question: How are the sections and questions distributed in JEE Main Paper 2 for B.Arch?
Answer: There will be three components in the JEE Main test for B.Arch: Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing, according to the JEE Main exam structure. The math component will have 30 questions, the aptitude section will have 50 questions, and the drawing section will have two questions. The JEE Main 2022 exam 2 contains a total of 82 questions.
What are the numerical questions on the JEE Main 2022 exam?
Answer: According to the JEE Main test pattern, numerical questions require a numerical value as an answer, which must be exact to four decimals. Unlike multiple-choice questions, these solutions require applicants to think about and calculate them.
Is there a sample of how numerical questions in JEE Main 2022 will be asked?
Answer: Candidates can use the previous year's JEE Advanced question papers to gain a general concept of the exam. These must be calculated by the candidates, and the decreased value must be entered.
